Körfez Basket introduced as Kocaeli's new Super League representative

Körfez Basket has been officially introduced as the new representative of Kocaeli in the Basketball Super League. The club secured its position by acquiring the competition rights of Manisa Basket.

During a press launch, Club President Hacı Yılmaz emphasized that the organization aims to add value to Kocaeli rather than just competing. He highlighted the city's industrial and educational infrastructure as a foundation for basketball growth. The club plans to focus on sustainability and long-term regional contributions.

Head Coach Serhan Kavut and General Manager Cihad Şahin noted a strong emphasis on youth development. The club intends to establish teams for various age groups, including 14, 16, and 18-year-old development leagues, to foster local talent through collaborations with schools and universities. Körfez Basket is scheduled to play its season opener against Esenler Erokspor on September 26.
