KRIDL engineer missing in Karnataka after leaving note over fund delays

Parvez Dharwad, an Assistant Executive Engineer for Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited (KRIDL), has gone missing from Gadag, Karnataka. He has been untraceable since traveling to Bengaluru on September 16 to attend a meeting.

Before his disappearance, Dharwad allegedly left a note addressed to the Managing Director of KRIDL. In the note, he expressed intentions to end his life due to mental health struggles caused by prolonged delays in the release and disbursement of funds, as well as intense pressure from contractors. He reported that even when funds were released, payments to certain contractors were not being made, leading to disturbances at his residence.

Dharwad requested the appointment of a new engineer and urged authorities to resolve the pending payments for contractors and staff. His family has requested the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to locate him.
