Križevci celebrates the feast of Saint Mark Križevčanin

The city of Križevci celebrated the feast day of Saint Mark Križevčanin, the patron saint of the city, the Koprivnica-Križevci County, and the Varaždin and Bjelovar-Križevci dioceses. The festivities included a traditional procession of bishops and priests through the city center to Strossmayer Square.

The central Eucharistic celebration was led by Monsignor Nikola Eterović. In his homily, he emphasized the importance of preserving religious identity and solidarity, referencing the saint's martyrdom in Košice in 1619. The event was attended by various high-ranking church and civil officials, including Bishop Vjekoslav Huzjak and local county and city representatives.

This celebration is part of a two-week program of religious and cultural events dedicated to the saint, which runs from August 29 to September 15.
