Križevci City Council debates sale of property with disputed ownership

During a session of the Križevci City Council, a debate arose regarding the planned sale of a property on Franje Račkog Street. Councilman Marko Katanović questioned the legality of the sale, noting that land registry records indicate a portion of the house, specifically a 45-square-meter apartment, is owned by a private individual, Mojca Podolski. Katanović argued that the city should not proceed with the sale until ownership issues are resolved or the private portion is purchased by the city.

In response, Head of Administration Suzana Blažević Glavosek stated the sale is intended to be conducted via public auction based on existing appraisals. Mayor Tomislav Katanović defended the process, asserting his authority to call for the auction and claiming the criticism was politically motivated. The public auction for the house and yard is scheduled for October 14, 2026.
