Križevci hosts thousands of pilgrims for Saint Charbel anniversary

Thousands of pilgrims gathered in Križevci, Croatia, to celebrate the second anniversary of the arrival of the relics of Saint Charbel Makhlouf, a Lebanese Maronite saint and miracle worker. The festivities took place at the Greek Catholic Cathedral of the Holy Trinity and included a solemn hierarchical liturgy led by Bishop Milan Stipić.

The religious program featured anointing with the oil of Saint Charbel and various spiritual talks. Additionally, a relic of Saint Padre Pio—specifically his habit—was exhibited to the faithful. Bishop Stipić noted that the city welcomes pilgrims from across Croatia and abroad, and he announced that 2027 will mark the 250th anniversary of the establishment of the Križevci Diocese, an event expected to draw approximately seventy bishops from across Europe.
