Kriminálka Anděl returns for eighth season on TV Nova

The eighth season of the Czech crime series Kriminálka Anděl has premiered on TV Nova. The new season consists of sixteen episodes and features an increased focus on action, with many actors performing their own stunts without stunt doubles.

Plotlines in the new season address contemporary social issues, including internet fraud, social benefit abuse, gambling mafias, and crimes committed by juveniles. Investigations will explore locations ranging from the darknet to hospital basements. The premiere episode, titled ‘Dům hrůzy’ (House of Horror), follows the discovery of two brothers' bodies after four years, raising questions about a previous murder conviction.

The series sees some cast changes, notably the departure of Jiří Langmajer. The returning cast includes David Švehlík, Jiří Dvořák, Helena Dvořáková, Michal Novotný, Marta Dancingerová, and Marek Taclík. Production elements have also evolved, incorporating drone footage and artificial intelligence to highlight forensic details.
