Kriminálka z Ostravy tops Czech TV ratings with 850,000 viewers

The Czech public‑service crime series Kriminálka z Ostravy drew more than 850,000 viewers during its prime‑time slot, securing a share of about 28 percent. The strong audience performance left commercial rivals Nova and Prima far behind, with Nova’s long‑running series Specialisté attracting roughly 690,000 viewers and Prima’s comedy‑detective Polda drawing about 282,000. The result marked a rare win for an older, six‑year‑old programme over newer offerings on the two major private channels.

The broadcast, which began shortly after 20:00, highlighted the series’ appeal based on real‑life cases from the Ostrava region and featured actors such as Stanislav Majer and Pavla Beretová.
