Kris Jenner wears iconic Elizabeth Taylor velvet cape in Rome
Kris Jenner wore a historic black velvet cape belonging to the late Elizabeth Taylor at the Rome Film Festival on October 24. The garment, featuring diamond scorpions, was custom-made by Tiziani Roma for Taylor, who wore it to Princess Grace of Monaco’s 40th birthday party in 1969.
Kim Kardashian revealed that her mother is the current owner of the piece and had previously lent it to her for the filming of the Hulu legal drama “All’s Fair.” The historical significance of the cape reportedly inspired showrunner Ryan Murphy to write a specific episode centered on a “Scorpio Ball” for Kardashian’s character.
Kardashian noted that the garment has become part of a trend within the family, mentioning her own use of Marilyn Monroe’s crystal-encrusted dress at the 2022 Met Gala and the acquisition of Princess Diana’s Attallah Cross.
