Kris Statlander Secures Spot in AEW Survival of the Fittest TBS Championship Match

During the June 21 episode of AEW Collision, former TBS Champion Kris Statlander defeated Mina Shirakawa to claim the third qualification slot for AEW’s inaugural Survival of the Fittest tournament. The six‑woman match, which will crown the new TBS Champion, is scheduled for the July 1 edition of Dynamite in San Diego, California, and will feature Statlander alongside Hikaru Shida and CMLL Women’s Champion Persephone, with three additional spots still to be decided.

Statlander previously held the TBS title for 174 days after ending Jade Cargill’s reign in May 2023. The championship was vacated when Willow Nightingale relinquished the belt due to a shoulder injury, prompting the tournament. Upcoming qualifiers include Harley Cameron versus Marina Shafir and a clash involving Queen Aminata, further shaping the field for the July bout.
