Kris Wu viral prison photos debunked as fake

Recent viral images claiming to show former EXO member Kris Wu looking significantly overweight and aged after five years in prison have been identified as fake. The images, which circulated on Chinese social media, depicted the singer with a heavily bloated face and a shaved head, leading to online speculation regarding his condition while incarcerated for serious sexual offenses.

Investigations by media outlets revealed that the images were digitally altered using Photoshop. The original photograph was taken during a 2015 interview with the Chinese media outlet Sohu. Observers noted inconsistencies in the viral photos, such as the subject not wearing standard prison attire, which helped debunk the claims.
