Krispy Kreme Doughnuts closes Shibuya store and launches coffee campaign

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is implementing several initiatives in Japan, including the closure of its Shibuya Sineta Tower location. The Shibuya branch, which opened in 2008 and featured a ‘doughnut theater’, is closing on September 27 due to the expiration of its contract. To mark the closure, the store held a campaign offering one free freshly made ‘Original Glazed’ doughnut to customers who purchased a product.

In celebration of International Coffee Day on October 1, the company will launch ‘Krispy Kreme Drip Bag House Blend’ at all stores and its official online shop. The blend features Arabica beans from Guatemala, Brazil, Colombia, and Indonesia. Additionally, the company is introducing ceramic cups modeled after its paper cups and running a ‘TOP5 Campaign’ from September 30 to October 6, offering discounts on select six-piece doughnut boxes.
