Kristen Stewart and Dylan Meyer debut stoner comedy “The Wrong Girls”

The new stoner comedy “The Wrong Girls” premiered in Los Angeles, starring Kristen Stewart and Alia Shawkat as marijuana‑loving best friends caught in a mistaken‑identity fiasco. The film was written and directed by Stewart’s wife, Dylan Meyer, a project that has been in development for more than a decade and that originally brought the couple together. Meyer told The Hollywood Reporter, “I wrote this movie about my best friend and I getting stoned in our house, and then it took a long time to convince people that it was worthy of being a movie.” Stewart said she was drawn to the script, noting, “You’re the coolest person I’ve ever met, what are you doing?”

“The Wrong Girls” also features a star‑studded supporting cast that includes Geena Davis, LaKeith Stanfield, Kate McKinnon, Kumail Nanjiani and Seth Rogen, the latter producing the film through Point Grey Pictures.
