Kristers Aparjods under investigation following festival conflict

Olympic athlete and State Police officer Kristers Aparjods is under investigation following a conflict at the ‘Allasille’ festival in Allaži. The incident reportedly involved a 14-year-old teenager, the teenager's mother, and stepfather against Aparjods, a security guard, and another man.

According to the complainants, the conflict occurred during a night dance at the Allaži People's House. They allege that a teenager was locked in a room and that physical violence was later directed at the stepfather. The complainants claim Aparjods initiated the conflict.

The Pierīga North Police Station has launched two administrative proceedings: one regarding potential minor bodily injuries to a man, and another concerning possible physical or emotional violence against a child. Because Aparjods is a police officer, the case has also been referred to the Internal Security Bureau. Additionally, Sigulda Municipality reported that a wall at the People's House was damaged by the teenager and has also contacted the police regarding the incident.
