Kristi Noem files for divorce after 34 years of marriage

Former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem has filed for divorce from her husband of 34 years, Bryon Noem, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’. The legal filing was made in Hamlin County, South Dakota.

The divorce follows a period of intense public scrutiny regarding Bryon Noem’s private life. Earlier this year, reports and images surfaced alleging his involvement in online fetish communities, specifically ‘bimbofication’ forums, and the use of feminine clothing. Some reports indicated he had spent significant sums, approximately $25,000, in these online spaces.

Kristi Noem’s personal life has been subject to multiple controversies. She was removed from her position as Homeland Security Secretary by President Donald Trump in March 2026 following backlash over immigration enforcement tactics and questions regarding her relationship with political adviser Corey Lewandowski, an allegation she has denied. She currently serves as a special envoy for the ‘Shield of the Americas’ initiative.
