flooding Moto3 Red Bull Rookies Cup Les Franqueses del Vallès Kristian Daniel

The Mossos d'Esquadra have identified the body found in a flooded tunnel in Les Franqueses del Vallès as 43-year-old American citizen Kristian Daniel. He had been reported missing the previous day.

Daniel was the father of Kristian Daniel Jr., a 17-year-old motorcycle racer in the Red Bull Rookies Cup. The family, originally from Los Angeles, moved to Catalonia a decade ago to support the young rider's career. The tragedy occurred just one week after the junior Daniel signed a professional contract with Tech3 Racing to compete in the Moto3 World Championship starting in 2027.

Kristian Daniel Jr. shared a tribute to his father on social media, expressing his grief and promising to honor his father's teachings by persevering in his racing career.
