Kristina Jørgensen returns to Metz handball club

Danish national team handball star Kristina Jørgensen has re‑joined French club Metz after a spell with Hungarian side Győr. The move is seen as beneficial for her playing development and, according to coach Helle Thomsen, could strengthen the national squad.

Jørgensen originally helped Metz win the Champions League before transferring to Győr, where she struggled to find a role amid a crowded attacking lineup and a defensive roster already filled with specialists. At Metz she is expected to receive more playing time and a position that matches her strengths in fast breaks and scoring, while the club rebuilds with a younger squad for the upcoming season.
