Kristina Poljak wins RuralFoto 2026 animal photography category

Photographer Kristina Poljak has won first place in the animal category of the RuralFoto 2026 competition. Her winning photograph features young foxes on a forest path and received an average score of 7.54.

The RuralFoto competition received 1,118 entries from Croatia, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina between June 1 and August 31. After an expert jury selected the top ten works in four categories—village, animals, production, and nature—the final winners were chosen by participants via the Agroklub social network.

The awards ceremony and exhibition were held on September 16 in Osijek during the AgroRocks 2026 conference and the IFAJ Croatia international congress of agrarian journalists. Other category winners included Sonja Diklić for production, Radovan Dangubić for village, and Milena Erceg, with Davor Denkovski receiving the audience award. Each category winner received a prize of 500 euros.
