Kristjan Čeh triumphs with 67.43 m discus throw in Karlstad

Slovenian discus record holder Kristjan Čeh won the athletics meeting in Karlstad, Sweden, with a best throw of 67.43 metres. He edged out home favourite Daniel Stahl, who managed a single valid mark of 66.86 metres, and other competitors including Norway’s Olo Stunes. The victory came in what Čeh described as his likely final competition before the European Championships in Birmingham, where he will defend his title. Čeh praised his technical execution and said the win confirms his form ahead of the championships, while noting the need for a short rest before final preparations.

The meet highlighted a high number of fouls, with many athletes recording no valid attempts, underscoring the challenging conditions. Čeh is expected to face Stahl again and Lithuania’s Mykolas Alekna at the European event.
