Kristjan Čeh wins Diamond League discus final with meet record
Slovenian discus thrower Kristjan Čeh secured the Diamond League overall title after winning the series final in Brussels. Čeh achieved a meet record with a throw of 71.29 meters, surpassing the previous world record held by Mykolas Alekna.
World record holder Mykolas Alekna finished in second place with a throw of 70.14 meters. Jamaican Olympic champion Roje Stona took third place with 68.86 meters. This victory marks Čeh’s second Diamond League overall title, his first since 2022.
Čeh noted that while the competition has become significantly more advanced, he was able to fulfill his seasonal goals. His performance in Brussels follows a successful season that included a European title in Birmingham and gold at the Mediterranean Games.
