Kristjan Čeh wins European discus title with championship record

Slovenian athlete Kristjan Čeh has become the European champion in discus throw at the championships in Birmingham. Čeh secured the title with a championship record throw of 72.51 meters on his third attempt.

This victory marks Čeh's third career gold medal, following his successes at the 2022 World Championships in Eugene and the 2024 European Championships in Rome. He will receive a 50,000 euro prize for setting the new championship record. Čeh, coached by Anna Maria Čeh, expressed optimism regarding the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
