Kriva Palanka hosts international folklore and food festivals

The municipality of Kriva Palanka is hosting a series of cultural events, headlined by the XXI International Folklore Festival ‘St. Joachim Osogovski’ from August 25 to 27. The festival features folklore ensembles from ten countries, including Macedonia, Poland, the Netherlands, Montenegro, Turkey, Slovakia, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Ukraine.

Alongside the folklore festival, the ‘Shopsko Selo’ festival of crafts, handicrafts, and food will take place from August 25 to 27 at the Kriva Reka quay. This event focuses on traditional products, gastronomy, and folk creativity, including the traditional preparation of ‘gulash’.

The cultural program concludes on August 29 with a large concert at the Kriva Palanka City Stadium featuring performers Lepa Brena, Aco Pejović, and Slatkar. Mayor Saško Mitovski recently hosted a reception for the international festival delegations to welcome the participants and celebrate the city's patron saint, St. Joachim Osogovski.
