Krivi Vir hosts cheese exhibition during Miholjski susreti sela

The fifth annual Miholjski susreti sela (Miholjski Village Encounters) was held in Boljevac, featuring a cheese exhibition in Krivi Vir dedicated to local livestock and cheese-making traditions. The event drew over 50 exhibitors from across Serbia—ranging from Pirot to Bečej and Valjevo—and attracted thousands of visitors.

A central highlight is the Krivovirska žuja, an indigenous sheep breed adapted to local mountain conditions. Minister for Rural Welfare Milan Krkobabić opened the event, noting that the exhibition serves as a model for how Serbian villages can showcase their identity. The exhibition features various products, including sheep, goat, and cow cheeses, as well as smoked varieties and cheeses infused with ingredients like blueberry or Rtanje tea.

In addition to the cultural event, reports highlighted rural development efforts in the Boljevac municipality. Supported by 24.4 million dinars from the Ministry for Rural Welfare, local programs have facilitated the resettlement of abandoned village houses and provided funding for cooperatives and rural transport.
