Krk Comedy Filmfest kicks off as Zagreb launches Filmholik Week

The first International Comedy Filmfest opened on the pier in Šilu, Krk, showcasing about ten short comedies from the United States, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Canada, India, Italy and Croatia. Despite a last‑minute venue change, wind‑related technical glitches and nearby football noise, the audience responded warmly, especially to the guest films and the local entry “Tajni agent 010”. The programme will continue on Friday with nominated and award‑winning shorts, including “The Visitor” by a London‑based filmmaker.

From 29 June to 4 July, Zagreb hosts the second edition of the Filmholik Week, organized by the Kinoholik.hr platform. The city‑wide programme offers free film screenings and five evening pub quizzes at venues such as Vintage Industrial Bar, the Croatian State Archives hall, Garden Brewery, Klub Roko and Teacher’s Pub. Winners can win cinema tickets, books, merchandise and other prizes. The event also promotes Kinoholik.hr’s tool that notifies users when requested titles return to local cinema schedules.
