Krka National Park to host heritage workshops for children
Krka National Park is organizing an educational program titled ‘Baština u rukama budućnosti’ (Heritage in the Hands of the Future) to mark the European Heritage Days. The event is scheduled for October 3, 2026, from 11:00 to 14:00 at Skradinski Buk.
The program is designed to introduce children aged six to eleven to the cultural, historical, and ethnographic heritage of the park. It includes a guided tour of restored watermills, where participants can observe traditional crafts such as grain milling, weaving, and blacksmithing. These sites demonstrate how historical inhabitants utilized natural resources and lived alongside the Krka River.
Following the tour, an educational workshop will focus on the traditional processing of sheep's wool. Children will learn the journey of wool from fleece to finished product, including the use of a fulling mill. The event aims to showcase the connection between the natural landscape, technical history, and everyday culture of the region.
