Kırıkkale Grape Varieties Seek Geographic Indication Status

In the Sulakyurt district of Kırıkkale, producer Mustafa Aslan is promoting the Danacı Köyü grape, noted for its unusually large, yellow berries. Aslan aims to obtain a geographic indication (GI) label for the variety, hoping the certification will create a regional brand and add economic value for local growers.

At the same time, the Kırıkkale Chamber of Commerce and Industry, together with the Ahiler Development Agency, hosted a Delice Grape Workshop. Participants from public institutions, local authorities, producer unions and growers discussed steps to improve production, quality standards and marketing for the Delice grape. The workshop emphasized the importance of GI registration and value‑added processing to boost the region’s agricultural economy and tourism.
