Kırıkkale Municipality employees arrested in bribery probe

Three employees of the Kırıkkale Municipality have been arrested following a bribery investigation conducted by the Kırıkkale Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The investigation was initiated after a complaint from a citizen, Y. K., who alleged that a technician in the business and licensing unit, R. Z., refused to approve licenses without receiving bribes.

As the investigation expanded, authorities identified multiple other victims and complainants. Financial audits and reports from the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) revealed significant suspicious transactions in the suspects' bank accounts. Specifically, R. Z. reportedly received 1,056,880 lira across 180 transactions. G. Ç., a technician in the zoning department, had 3,120,885 lira deposited via 101 transactions, while Ö. G., an employee in the real estate unit, and their son received 156,211 lira through 100 transactions.

Following their detention and court appearances, the suspects—R. Z., G. Ç., and Ö. G.—were formally arrested and sent to prison.
