Kırıkkale police seize 25,190 Lira from elderly woman begging in park
During routine inspections in Kırıkkale, municipal police caught a 77-year-old woman, identified as A. E., begging in Hüseyin Kahya Park. Upon inspection at the Municipal Police Directorate, authorities discovered 25,190 Turkish Lira in cash on her person.
Following the discovery, officials confiscated the entire amount and issued a fine of 1,764 Turkish Lira to the woman under the Misdemeanor Law. After the legal proceedings were completed, the woman was released, at which point she reportedly asked the police officers for money to pay for transportation.
Municipal Police Director İbrahim Gencer stated that large sums of money are frequently encountered during such inspections. He urged the public to remain vigilant and not to fall victim to individuals who exploit emotional sentiments for financial gain.
