Kırklareli and Pomorie launch cross-border tourism route

A new tourism route is being developed through a cross-border cooperation project between Kırklareli, Turkey, and Pomorie, Bulgaria. Managed by the Trakya Development Agency, the European Union-funded project, titled ‘Shared Coasts and Stories: Exploring the Rich Cultural Heritage and Local Features of the Pomorie-Kırklareli Tourist Region’, aims to integrate the tourism potential of both areas.

The project has a total budget of approximately 1 million euros and is scheduled to continue until 2025. Key initiatives include increasing the visibility of tourist sites in regions such as Demirköy, Kıyıköy, İğneada, Ahmetbey, and Pınarhisar through improved signage and mapping. Additionally, the project will adopt an eco-friendly approach by installing electric vehicle charging stations.

The initiative seeks to create a ‘win-win’ model by encouraging tourists visiting Pomorie to explore Kırklareli and vice versa, thereby promoting regional development and digital promotion of Kırklareli’s cultural values.
