Turkey celebrates regional grape harvest festivals

Various regions across Turkey are celebrating traditional grape harvest festivals, highlighting local agricultural heritage and culture through music, parades, and community events.

In Çal, Denizli, the 29th International Çal Grape Harvest Culture and Art Festival featured performances by Murat Kekilli and Türkü Akbayram. The event included traditional activities such as grape crushing and molasses boiling, as well as a tractor parade. A tribute was also held for the late artist Edip Akbayram, attended by his daughter, Türkü Bayram.

Manisa hosted the 8th Grape Harvest and Yörük Culture Festival in the Şehzadeler district. The celebration focused on preserving Yörük and Turkmen traditions and included a large parade with musical bands and folklore performances. Musical acts like the group Yüksek Sadakat performed for the crowds.

Additionally, Kırklareli held its 17th Grape Harvest Festival in the Yayla neighborhood. The festivities included a parade, traditional grape pressing, and awards for top grape producers, emphasizing the region's deep-rooted connection to viticulture.
