Kırklareli Social Solidarity Center empowers 478 women through literacy

Over the past 12 years, the Social Solidarity Center (SODAM) in Kırklareli, Turkey, has enabled 478 disadvantaged women to achieve literacy. Established in 2014, the center focuses on raising education levels, increasing social participation, and improving employment opportunities for women, particularly in the Yayla, Kocahıdır, and Akalar neighborhoods.

Since its inception, SODAM has conducted 69 literacy courses. Coordinator Nesrin Dokuyucu noted that the center’s on-site nursery has significantly increased participation among mothers. The literacy rate among women attending the center has risen from 35 percent at its founding to approximately 95 percent today, directly aiding their ability to secure employment.
