Kärntner Tourism School expands summer internship network across Europe

The Kärntner Tourism School (KTS) in Austria is launching a mandatory summer internship programme for its students in hospitality and tourism. Funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ scheme, the 2026 cohort will undertake 41 mobility placements with 36 partner organisations in destinations such as Italy, Spain, Switzerland, South Africa, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Portugal, Croatia, Malta and Germany. The initiative aims to combine professional training with language improvement, intercultural experience and future networking.

At the same time, the German platform Freiwilligenarbeit.de is promoting a digital hub for planning overseas stays, including volunteer work, internships, language trips, work‑and‑travel and gap‑year programmes. The site offers searchable filters by country, duration and sector, plus guidance on applications, financing and preparation, helping young people compare options and choose the most suitable abroad experience.
