Kroenke Sports and Entertainment to acquire Los Angeles Angels

Kroenke Sports and Entertainment has reached an agreement to purchase controlling ownership of the Los Angeles Angels from Arte Moreno. The deal, which is expected to close in early 2027, reportedly values the MLB franchise at $4 billion, a record for a Major League Baseball team.

Upon completion, Stan Kroenke will become the first owner to control franchises in all five major U.S. men’s professional sports leagues simultaneously. His existing portfolio includes the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams, the NBA’s Denver Nuggets, the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche, and MLS’s Colorado Rapids. The acquisition also includes the team’s regional television network and radio station.

Arte Moreno will remain a minority owner in the club following the transaction. The news has been met with reactions from players, including three-time AL MVP Mike Trout, who described the acquisition as a “fresh start” for the organization.
