Kroger removes Red Bull from all stores nationwide

Kroger has removed Red Bull products from its supermarkets and fuel centers nationwide. The phaseout was completed by August 31, which included the removal of branded coolers and in-store displays across all company banners, such as Ralphs, Fred Meyer, and Harris Teeter.

While neither Kroger nor Red Bull has provided a formal explanation for the split, the move appears to stem from a pricing dispute. Kroger's website noted that the brand is currently out of stock while the retailer works with suppliers to maintain affordable prices for consumers. This aligns with comments from Kroger CEO Greg Foran during a September 11 earnings call, where he indicated the company would resist supplier price increases driven by inflation.

Kroger remains in the energy drink market and continues to stock alternative brands, including Monster, Rockstar, Alani Nu, and Celsius. The removal of Red Bull has not affected other major retailers or convenience stores.
