Krokom Parents Demand Greater Transparency in Local Preschool

A parent from Krokom municipality wrote an op‑ed criticizing the limited access parents have to information about their children's preschool. The letter describes a system where families must ring a doorbell to be admitted to a reception room, receive minimal interaction with staff, and obtain only sparse updates via an app – three notifications in over a year. The author argues that while child privacy is important, it should not be used to “close parents out of all insight.”

The parent calls for clearer communication about which adults care for their children, regular updates on daily activities, and the opportunity to attend events such as Lucia celebrations or summer gatherings, which have been declined by staff. The piece highlights concerns about staff turnover, lack of visibility of classroom personnel, and the desire for a more transparent preschool environment.
