Krom Bank partners with SHIELD to detect digital fraud

PT Krom Bank Indonesia Tbk has partnered with SHIELD, a Singapore-based global fraud intelligence platform, to implement dynamic security layers within its digital banking application. The integration utilizes Device-First Fraud Intelligence to monitor device behavior in real-time throughout the entire user session, from login to logout.

The partnership aims to combat rising digital fraud in Indonesia, specifically targeting syndicates that distribute malicious applications disguised as legitimate public services, such as fake Digital Population Identity (IKD) apps. These fraudulent apps allow attackers to hijack banking sessions through screen-sharing and remote access features. Additionally, the bank is addressing the use of AI-driven deepfake technology used in social engineering attacks.

Since the integration, the system has achieved a 100% detection rate for dangerous screen-sharing and remote access attempts, while improving fraud response times by up to 95%.
