Kroměříž Hospital completes 200 million CZK expansion

Kroměříž Hospital has completed a major extension project costing over 200 million CZK. The new facility includes a new emergency department located on the ground floor, which is expected to begin accepting patients this autumn. The expansion features a reception area, waiting rooms, ambulances, an examination room, a plaster room, and a procedure room.

According to Lenka Mergenthalová, chairwoman of the hospital's board, the new layout will prevent the mixing of emergency patients with those arriving for routine check-ups. Additionally, the ophthalmology department has already been operating in the first floor of the extension since June, utilizing its own dedicated operating room to free up capacity in the central surgical suites.

The Zlín Region invested 150 million CZK into the construction, while the hospital utilized its own funds and subsidies for the internal equipment. The project aims to increase both surgical capacity and bed availability while improving conditions for patients and staff.
