Kronospan Bulgaria fined 76,693 euros for environmental violations

The Regional Inspectorate on Environment and Water in Veliko Tarnovo imposed sanctions totaling approximately 76,693.78 euros on Kronospan Bulgaria EOOD during July. The penalties were issued following inspections that identified administrative violations, including the dispersal of odors beyond the production site boundaries and failures in waste management reporting.

During the month, experts conducted 116 inspections. In addition to the fines against Kronospan, authorities issued an act against an official for violating atmospheric air cleanliness regulations. Public complaints regarding Kronospan and Megaport OOD were frequently received via email and emergency hotlines, specifically noting wood-related odors during night and evening hours.
