Krosno approves airport expansion for civil and military use

The city of Krosno has approved changes to its multi-year financial forecast to fund the expansion of the Krosno Airport. The project, valued at 45.19 million PLN, is designed for dual civil and military use.

Key infrastructure improvements include extending the runway from 1,100 meters to 2,000 meters in stages, as well as upgrading taxiways, lighting, drainage, and water installations. The expansion aims to allow the airport to accommodate larger aircraft, such as C-130 Hercules military planes. The project is scheduled for implementation between 2026 and 2028, with 21.61 million PLN in expected funding from the European Regional Development Fund.
