Krosno hosts 26th FAI World Hot Air Balloon Championship

The 26th FAI World Hot Air Balloon Championship is being hosted in Krosno, Poland, marking the first time the event has been held in the country. The competition, organized by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI), features approximately 104 to 120 pilots representing between 32 and 40 countries.

Scheduled to run from September 18 to September 25, 2026, the event includes ten competitive flight sessions. The competition schedule relies on safe weather conditions, with flights typically occurring at 6:00 and 16:00.

In addition to the sporting competition, organizers have planned various public attractions, including a Balloon Town, laser shows, and night displays featuring balloons and drones. The official opening ceremony is set to take place at the Municipal Stadium, and the event will receive live coverage from TVP3 Rzeszów.
