Krásno nad Kysucou ranked as Slovakia's most financially healthy city

The Institute for Economic and Social Reforms (INEKO) has released its 2025 assessment of the financial health of Slovak municipalities. The ranking evaluates 141 cities based on indicators such as total debt, debt service, current account balance, and overdue liabilities.

Krásno nad Kysucou secured the top position with a score of 5.54 out of 6. The municipality reported no total debt and a debt service rate of only 2.91 percent of current income. Other high-ranking cities include Nové Mesto nad Váhom, Dubnica nad Váhom, and Sereď, which placed 10th with a score of 5.3.

The average financial health score across all evaluated Slovak cities was 4.25. At the lower end of the spectrum, Zlaté Moravce ranked last with a score of 3.9. Notably, the regional city of Žilina ranked 135th out of 141, showing a decline from its position in 2024.
