KRUS agricultural pension rules differ from ZUS

The Agricultural Social Insurance Fund (KRUS) maintains distinct retirement rules compared to the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS). To qualify for a standard agricultural pension, women must reach the age of 60 and men must reach 65. Additionally, individuals must demonstrate at least 25 years of coverage under the agricultural pension and disability insurance system.

While historical provisions once allowed for earlier retirement, these options were restricted to those who met specific criteria before the end of 2017. Currently, farmers who are unable to continue working due to health reasons may apply for an agricultural disability pension instead.

Notably, current regulations allow retirees to continue managing their farms while receiving their full pension benefits, a flexibility that differs from previous requirements.
