KRUS launches nationwide agricultural safety competition for students
The Agricultural Social Insurance Fund (KRUS) has launched the first edition of a nationwide competition for agricultural high school students titled ‘Safety in Agriculture – Knowledge for the Future’. Held under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, the initiative is part of the international ‘Vision Zero’ strategy aimed at reducing workplace accidents and occupational diseases among future farmers.
The competition consists of three stages: an initial online knowledge test via the Moodle platform, a regional stage held in person at eight partner universities involving both theoretical and practical tasks, and a central stage featuring an individual project on farm safety.
Financial rewards are available for top performers. Regional winners can receive between 1,500 PLN and 2,500 PLN. In the central final, the first-place winner will receive 4,000 PLN, with subsequent prizes of 3,500 PLN and 3,000 PLN, plus ten honorable mentions of 500 PLN each. The final gala is scheduled for December 11, 2026, in Warsaw.
