Krynica Express gondola construction begins in Poland

Polskie Koleje Linowe (PKL) has officially commenced construction of the Krynica Express, a new gondola lift project in Krynica-Zdrój. The investment, valued at over 43 million PLN, will connect the center of the resort with Czarny Potok, where passengers can transfer to the existing lift leading to Jaworzyna Krynicka.

The new line will span approximately 2.15 kilometers and feature 11 support pillars. It is designed to transport up to 1,000 passengers per hour using 35 panoramic cabins, each with an eight-person capacity. The journey from the town center to Czarny Potok is expected to take about eight minutes, with cabins moving at speeds of up to 5 meters per second.

Designed for year-round use, the gondola will be equipped to carry bicycles and skiing equipment, and will be accessible to individuals with reduced mobility. The project aims to reduce car traffic and parking issues in the region while boosting local tourism. Completion and passenger service are scheduled for late September or October 2027.
