Kryštof releases new album ‘Půlnoční hřích’

The Czech band Kryštof has released their new album, ‘Půlnoční hřích’, marking their first full-length release in five years. The eleven-track album was recorded at Real World Studios and Daft Music Studios and produced by Johnny Rainbow.

The album features several collaborations, including the title track with Dominique Alagia, the song ‘Rubín’ featuring singer beira, and the closing track ‘Hrej Kapelo’ with the band Jelen. The band also released a music video for the single ‘Oblohy půl’.

Critical reception of the album has been mixed. While some tracks are noted for high-quality arrangements—such as the crescendo in ‘Slunce’ and the orchestral elements in ‘Rubín’—others have been criticized for lacking the energy of the band’s earlier work or relying on simplistic lyrical rhymes. Richard Krajčo has described the record as a spontaneous reflection of current life experiences.
