Krzysztof Bosak warns of rising unemployment and job losses in Kraków
During a visit to Kraków, Deputy Marshal of the Sejm Krzysztof Bosak addressed concerns regarding the deteriorating labor market. He noted that official unemployment in Poland has reached nearly one million, an increase of 40,000 compared to the previous year.
Bosak highlighted significant job cuts within major international companies operating in Kraków, specifically citing layoffs at HSBC, planned reductions at Electrolux affecting approximately 200 people, and potential losses of 500 to 700 jobs at Heineken. He argued that international firms are increasingly moving operations outside of Europe.
Attributing the difficulties faced by industrial enterprises to high energy prices, Bosak criticized European Union climate policy and called for its abolition to improve economic competitiveness.
