Krzysztof Cugowski discusses low pension and ongoing music career

Polish singer Krzysztof Cugowski, the former vocalist of the legendary band Budka Suflera, has shared details regarding his financial situation and retirement. In his book, “Śpiewanie mnie nie męczy - Cugowski rozmawia z Sierockim,” the 76-year-old revealed that his monthly pension from ZUS amounts to 1,700 PLN following various revaluations.

Despite the low pension amount, Cugowski stated that he does not rely on it for his livelihood. He continues to maintain an active musical career, performing with the Zespół Mistrzów and touring under the slogan “Wiek to tylko liczba” (Age is just a number). He expressed a commitment to continue performing as long as his health permits, noting that his concert fees—reported to be around 80,000 PLN per performance—provide sufficient income.

Cugowski remarked that while he finds the pension amount modest, he remains focused on his work and finds great pleasure in performing for audiences.
