Krzysztof Daukszewicz leaves TVN24 after controversial remarks

Satirist Krzysztof Daukszewicz has effectively ended his 18-year career with the TVN24 program ‘Szkło kontaktowe’ following a controversial incident in May 2023. During a broadcast, Daukszewicz made a remark regarding the gender of journalist Piotr Jacoń’s transgender child, an action that drew widespread criticism.

In response to the incident, TVN24 issued a formal apology to the LGBTQ+ community, stating the station stands with the rights of discriminated minorities. While Daukszewicz apologized for his words, he subsequently decided not to return to the program.

Daukszewicz has since indicated that his departure from the media landscape is permanent, noting that he no longer appears on television and has shifted his focus to theatrical work, including performing at the Och-Teatr.
