Krzysztof Piątek permitted to leave Al-Duhail

Polish striker Krzysztof Piątek has been given permission by Al-Duhail to seek a new club for the 2026/27 season. Despite a productive first season in Qatar, where the 31-year-old recorded 17 goals and 5 assists in 36 appearances, the club has decided not to include him in their future plans.

The decision follows a change in league regulations in Qatar, which will now limit the number of foreign players allowed in a single team to five, down from the previous limit of ten. Due to Piątek’s high contract value, finding a new team may present financial challenges.

Piątek joined Al-Duhail from İstanbul Başakşehir in the summer of 2025 for approximately 10 million euros on a three-year contract. His departure comes despite his strong individual statistics, which placed him among the top scorers in the Qatar Stars League.
