Krzysztof Stanowski loses driver's license for speeding

Journalist and Kanał Zero founder Krzysztof Stanowski has had his driver's license suspended for three months following a speeding violation in Odrowąż, Poland. On August 30, Stanowski was caught driving at 110 km/h in a built-up area where the speed limit is 50 km/h. In addition to the suspension, he received a 3,000 PLN fine and 13 penalty points.

Stanowski addressed the incident on social media, describing his actions as “total stupidity” and admitting he had momentarily rationalized the speed because the road appeared empty and straight. He noted that while he initially felt no danger was created, the presence of the police served as a reminder that others could have emerged unexpectedly. He stated he would spend the next three months using a bicycle or a private driver.

The incident has drawn significant media attention and political commentary. Roman Giertych criticized the enforcement as political harassment, while other media figures, such as Patryk Michalski, criticized Stanowski for his lack of remorse and for previously labeling speeding as a sign of intellectual deficiency.
