Krzysztof Wałecki named new vocalist for Budka Suflera

The Polish rock band Budka Suflera has appointed Krzysztof Wałecki, former frontman of Oddział Zamknięty, as its new vocalist. Wałecki replaces Jacek Kawalec, who departed the group following a public dispute.

The conflict began when Kawalec parodied disco-polo singer Zenon Martyniuk during a performance. After the band's drummer, Tomasz Zeliszewski, issued a public apology to Martyniuk on behalf of the group, Kawalec expressed disappointment, citing attempts at censorship. Kawalec has stated he will fulfill his existing concert commitments despite his departure.

Journalist Kuba Wojewódzki commented on the transition in his column, remarking on the ease with which one can become a legend in the music industry.
